  2. CEO Nancy nominated to LA City Workforce Development Board: She is immediately tapped to chair a committee, thanks to all her tireless efforts in workforce development on behalf of the Chamber for the San Fernando Valley.
  3. Returned in-person for State of the Valley: 2021 brought a popular new format and a great new look. Spectrum News One Host, Alex Cohen, kicked off our return to in-person as moderator with a talk show format that allowed more in-depth discussions on relevant topics such as the City of LA vaccine ordinance, redistricting, and supply chain issues.   4. Distributed over 50,000 PPE units to businesses helping them comply with new CalOSHA standards
  5. Fuyumi selected for Inclusive Economic Growth Fellowship by the Association of Chamber of Commerce Executives (ACCE): This fellowship studies economic recovery and resilience strategies with 21 other chamber professionals throughout the United States.
  6. Nominated 116 member businesses for the Inner City Capital Connections program: This executive leadership training program offered by the Initiative for a Competitive Inner City (ICIC) helps business owners in under-resourced communities build sustainable growth and resiliency capacity. Ten percent of nominated candidates went through the program.
  7. Sounded the alarm on bills that would hurt employers and the economy and worked to win support for legislation that helps the jobs climate: Our victories included an 83% State-Level Legislative success with 29 GSFVCC-advocated bills advanced to Governor Newsom's desk!
  8. Launched Women in Business Speaker Series: This series features distinguished women business leaders who have reached the highest levels of professional achievement and leadership. The program incorporates a unique blend of presentation and interactive dialogues, enabling attendees to interact and engage with renowned women business leaders. 
  9. Partnered local businesses with opportunities to compete for contracts for 2022 Super Bowl in Los Angeles: Business Connect allowed the Chamber to introduce minority, women, LGBTQ+ or veteran-owned businesses to contracting opportunities.
  10. Provided job training to 430 workers to upgrade skills
  11. Trained 100 front-line workers to adapt to new Covid-19 procedures
  12. Mobilized 8,000 advocates to speak up on business issues
  13. Amplified the voice of 25 local non-profit organizations and connected them with area businesses on Giving Tuesday
  14. Distributed Labor Law Posters to all members as a member benefit: Any business with one or more employees (whether in-person or distance working) must provide this information to stay compliant with Federal and State legislation. Purchase 2022 posters today!
  15. Hosted Meet & Greets with Freshman legislators: This forum connected members with the three new area legislators: Councilmember Nithya Raman, Assemblymember Suzette Valladares, and Congressman Mike Garcia.
