This weekend, we invite you to attend a 211 LA County disaster preparedness fair on February 23 at the Mission Playhouse. The event includes hands-only CPR training, earthquake science and safety talk, community and county resources and more.

City Council approves safety improvements
to four intersections
To improve pedestrian and traffic safety along Las Tunas Drive and San Gabriel Boulevard at four intersections, the City Council approved a $43,100 agreement with JMDiaz Inc. for design and engineering services to improve four intersections in the City.

Senator Susan Rubio to host public forum February 23
Senator Susan Rubio is hosting a public forum for residents to discuss ideas, raise questions and concerns about legislative issues on February 23 from 9:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at the Arcadia Public Library Auditorium located at 20 West Duarte Road in Arcadia. This is your chance to have a cup of coffee with Senator Rubio.

San Gabriel hosts 2019 Lunar New Year Festival
On February 16, the City of San Gabriel hosted its fifth annual Lunar New Year Festival with a roster featuring traditional and contemporary artists, singers, crafts, food and performers.

Los Angeles County to host
hazardous household waste drop-off event March 9
Los Angeles County is hosting a household hazardous waste collection day at the Mission Playhouse parking lot on Saturday, March 9 from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Household hazardous waste, such as motor oil, paint, televisions or batteries, will be accepted.
Help build a new Smith Park playground on March 14
To help build a new play area for children, we need over 75 volunteers from our community to help construct a new playground at Smith Park. If you're 18 years of age or older, please join us on March 14 at Smith Park from 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. No construction experience is required.
