BE A HERO - $1M Goal
$823,000 raised so far!
Christiane Benson's brother, Garland, launched his Be a Hero campaign last year to raise $1 million to fund a treatment for his sister. To date he has raised over $823,000! Garland recently received some help from philanthropists Kendra Scott and Steve Hicks. Watch the video  HERE !

The Will Herndon Fund
The 10th Annual Hope Under the Stars Gala was a huge success and supporters helped make it even more memorable with record breaking giving. In total the event grossed over $900,000 and will help fund the first ever treatment for juvenile Batten disease! Thank you to our long time partners, The Will Herndon Research Fund and all of their supporters in The Woodlands, Texas.
Bind Up Batten
In November The first annual Inspire Run 5K took place in Ann Arbor, Michigan. The event raised over $6,000 for research! Thank you to all of the sponsors and runners who participated to make this event a success. To find out more about the Klein family and Bind Up Batten, click here.
Tyler's Mission
Tyler’s Stars is comprised of Tyler Kim’s sister and her close friends. This summer they hosted a cake pop fundraiser in support of Tyler's Mission and raised over $600 for research! Hugs for Hudson
On October 20 th  the Phillips family partnered with the Columbus Blue Jackets to raise awareness about juvenile Batten disease. The team donated a percentage of ticket sales to help fund research. Hudson’s community also pitched in with a cupcake sale and corporate contributions, raising over $6000. Thanks to all who participated. BBQ for Batten
This year the Brian Duensing Foundation chose BBDF as the beneficiary for their annual fundraiser. The event was hosted in honor of Cara and Mike Sillman whose son Drew suffers from juvenile Batten disease. The Sillman's community also hosted a Battin' 4 Batten softball tournament and together the two events raised over $70,000. Thank you for supporting BBDF research!
