Student Committee needs volunteers to visit

Shawnee Mission School!

Shawnee Mission School District will have their fall career and college fair where they will host juniors and seniors from our five high schools.

This event will be on Friday, September 29 at the Center for Academic Achievement, 8200 W. 71st Street, Shawnee Mission, KS 66204. There will be three sessions from 8 a.m. - 11: 30 a.m. Students will come prepared with resumes, research, and questions.

There will also be another event for the Spring Hill High School Fair on October 18th that needs volunteers. CLICK HERE for more information!

SPECIAL REQUEST:

ifmaKC plans to launch a new Service Providers Directory which will be posted on the Chapter website. If you have PDF software, which allows pasting images (Adobe Acrobat Pro or Bluebeam) and would like to contribute to your Chapter on your own time, WE NEED YOUR HELP!

The Mission Chateau Senior Living $550k Water Damage Project:

This senior care facility suffered extensive water damage to their structure when their fire sprinkler line froze and broke, dumping hundreds of gallons of water into their finished and occupied building. They immediately called HL Restoration to assist with mitigation and repairs.

We responded immediately to begin assisting with relocation of residents, manipulation of contents, extraction, and dry out and dehumidification of the structure. As the mitigation was in progress, we assembled our teams and materials to begin reconstruction immediately following the dry out. The reconstruction was compromised of drywall, trim, paint, floor coverings, and associated finishes. All in total the contract with both mitigation and recon was approximately $550k. The building owner and their staff were very involved and helpful in the process. We worked closely with ownership, the carrier and their consultant and the staff at the facility to make a very successful project.
