Kokoro Volleyball Athlete/Family Handbook
You have previously reviewed and signed the Kokoro Volleyball Parent/Athlete Handbook as a condition of participation with us before tryouts. There will remain a link to this document for easy review on the secure area of our website for the duration of the season.
ETS Performance Training (up to three 1-hour sessions per week; 2 are required; attendance is monitored) @Kokoro Volleyball
Get Started Here - DO THIS FIRST
- Information on how to get started signing up for your training sessions.

ETS sessions are scheduled entirely on your own through the ETS performance website and/or GymMaster App (only use app after your account has been created).
- Most families work to do their ETS training in conjunction with practice times to minimize trips to the gym. Session times are available before and after most practices (after is more challenging for the later practices).
- You can begin scheduling ETS sessions NOW and get in as early as today potentially! Your first session will be a beginning evaluation to establish your baseline strength, speed, and agility and will allow us to measure future growth. Get that scheduled and completed this week.

Questions and concerns regarding ETS scheduling and training should be directed to Faryn at kokoro@etsperformance.com.
- Again, these sessions are REQUIRED at Kokoro Volleyball a minimum 2x a week.
- Sessions are 55 minutes in length.
- Other ETS locations or training programs can not be substituted for our location's specific volleyball training.
- All ETS sessions are included in your Kokoro fees.
Loon State Physical Therapy @ Kokoro Volleyball

Loon State Physical Therapy will be our on-site physical therapy partner, offering traditional physical therapy, rehab, and return to sport visits to keep our athletes moving at their best and continuing to play at a high level while working to avoid being sidelined with an injury.
Each athlete can schedule a movement screening with Andrew (highly recommended) and three half-hour physical therapy sessions throughout the season! All noted above are included in your fees.
TeamSnap
We will be fully using TeamSnap as our communication and scheduling platform this season. Be certain to download the app, go into your account, and update/add important contact details you would like to be utilized throughout the season.
- There is no need to email us to update these details as you have full access to your athletes and your contact info.
- When teams are formed, please keep an eye on your app as you will notice your team has been added automatically. If you are new to TeamSnap, you will likely be asked to join, in order to see your team. This must be completed in order to receive team-specific communications.
- This is also where you will be able to access your account balance, make online payments, and/or set up automatic payments should you desire. Just be careful when making payments. Read through the info thoroughly as there are times families set themselves up on autopay and did not intend to.
- You may see your down payment invoice come through. You do not need to do anything with this. It is just us documenting that you made your payment.

Many details will be added to the app once teams are fully created including team coaches and contact info. Until that info is available to you, please communicate directly with us at jen@kokorovolleyball.com or kokorovb@yahoo.com.
- There is an attendance button for events. Leaving that blank or clicking "not in attendance" is NOT sufficient communication to notify your coach you will not be in attendance. All non-attendance, late arrivals, or early departures are required to be communicated to coaches via email, phone call, or in person.
- Finally, throughout the season, if you need to connect with us directly, do NOT "message" us in the TeamSnap app. That will be lost in the many thousands of communications we receive there. Email, call, or text is always best.

- Note the store will close for orders on Sunday, November 19 at 11:59 pm.
- The store gear is an additional option for items you MAY want.
- Nothing in the store is required.
- If purchasing additional knee pads and socks, white is the preferred color.
- Remember your athlete gets the following gear as part of her Mizuno team apparel package, which is included in the cost of participation.

- The store will reopen in the spring of 2024, but not before so get your items now!
- Items should arrive and be distributed before Christmas break.
Water Bottle

- The deadline to order is Sunday, November 19 at 11:59 pm.
- Just like the Apparel store, this is optional! You do not need to purchase a water bottle.
- Once orders are placed, you will be invoiced on your athlete's account for the total order amount.
- The water bottle store will NOT reopen.
- Items should arrive and be distributed before Christmas break.
Are You Interested in Work Opportunities?

Below is a list of opportunities available. We cannot guarantee you will receive all opportunities, but we work very hard to get each family at least one.
- Facility Management (approximately $500 credit for the season)- help clean Kokoro Volleyball one night a week for the duration of the season. Typically takes about 1 hour.
- Event Site Director (approximately $250/per day) - we run three, 2-day events (Big City Luau, NorthStar Volleyball United Presidents Day Challenge, and The Midwest Fiesta). We need parents to help us with Site Directing both Saturday and Sunday of these events.
- Saturday hours are approximately - 6:30 am - 9:30 pm
- Sunday hours are approximately - 6:30 am - 6 pm
- SportsEngine Play - Livestreaming events that do not offer BallerTV.
- We will start assigning these roles after Thanksgiving.
Kokoro Yoga

Our first full week of yoga classes is here.
- Classes are open to athletes, families, and the community.
- It is recommended you download the MindBody app and search Kokoro Yoga. You can also book classes from the MindBody webpage, but the app is easy and friendly.
- You will notice specific 20-minute sessions offered specifically for athletes. As the season gets fully rolling these sessions work perfectly after ETS and before practices. We are mindful of the time in order to get athletes into practice in a timely manner.
- Athletes can use the below promo codes to get discounts on all classes and packages.

- Athletes are welcome in any class; athletes only in Kokoro Athlete 20-minute Yoga + Mindfulness.
