23rd Annual Cambria County Job Fair Has Great Success
Debi Balog
Director, Workforce Development

The Cambria County Job Fair was a resounding success! Over 450 job seekers had the opportunity to meet with 91 businesses offering over 1,000 positions.

Based on survey results, employers commented that this is a valuable event for the community with a great turnout. Mikayla Wyrwas, Cambria County Child Development Corporation, stated "[I] hope to see this event in the upcoming years as well! [It's] great for the community!" Another exhibitor, Sheetz, attended the fair for the first time this year, which enabled them to conduct over 60 interviews with qualified candidates.

Job seekers remarked on their surveys that they were impressed with the number and variety of employers at the fair, noting that the representation by the manufacturing companies was especially exciting. Many secured job interviews.

Many thanks to the sponsors and in-kind contributors for their support and to the Job Fair Committee for their hard work in planning and executing this event. The event had a total of 20 sponsors this year, including Titanium Sponsor, Highmark Blue Cross Blue Shield. To view the job fair program with the list of employers and job openings, in-kind contributors, and job fair committee members, click here.
