QuickTips
Tech Tip: Don't Work Last Minute

Always plan, and never wait until the last minute to turn in assignments. Your Internet service, Moodle, or myKnightLife can go down, and your assignment will be late.

Technical issues cannot be foreseen, but you can plan ahead in case a technical issue arises. Turn your assignments in at least the day before they are due. If technical issues do arise, you will have an extra day to make sure you get your assignment submitted on time.

If a technical issue occurs, don't delay. Contact your instructor and explain the issue and why you may be late with your assignment. Ask if you have any options for an extension.

Reading Glasses Drive

Help make learning a little easier by donating new and gently used reading glasses because we can’t learn what we can’t see.

A Reading Glasses Drive is being sponsored by Surry Community College’s Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Committee and the Student Government Association (SGA).

Donation boxes are in the following buildings: H, R (Library), A, C and J on the main campus in Dobson and in the B-Building on the Yadkin Center campus.

Share the Ride NC

Share the Ride NC is a free website and app that offers carpool-matching, trip-tracking for commuter rewards, and more! This is a great option for Surry Community College students to carpool in order to save money on gas.

Carpools are made up of people who have similar work/class schedules and travel similar routes. Riders choose the meeting location, days, and times they want to carpool. Some carpoolers take turns driving their personal vehicles, while others use just one car and split the driving costs. Carpools are flexible as riders can choose to only carpool on certain days.
