Give Miami Day starts at midnight! Here are 5 ways to make the most of your giving

A record 800+ local nonprofits are counting on you to make this the biggest Give Miami Day yet! This year, a new website makes it easier to champion your favorite causes. Make the most of your giving with these tips:

  • Donate to your cause: Explore the 800+ nonprofits, and plan to make a gift starting at midnight.

  • Discover a new cause: Look for suggested nonprofits to support based on your giving.

  • Support ALL causes: Give to the Bonus Pool, which benefits all participating organizations.

  • Create a donor profile: Set up your profile, store payment details and save your favorite nonprofits.

  • Time your giving: Mark your calendar for Prizes throughout the day - and stretch your dollars further!

Tune into the Give Miami Day Twitter Party starting at 11 p.m. Follow along at @MiamiFoundation using the   #GiveMiamiDay hashtag . Nonprofits are also hosting events throughout the day ( see events list ).

How one nonprofit is redesigning Miami-Dade's bus system - with your input

Local nonprofit Transit Alliance Miami advocates for improved public transit, including making Miami-Dade's bus system more useful for more people. Called the Better Bus Project, the effort is driven by community input. A rider survey (still open) informed the two concepts presented to the Board of County Commissioners in September; commissioners will vote on it in early 2020. The Miami Foundation weighed in with this letter.
