The 25th Annual Greenwich Concours d’Elegance Offered Two Unique Days of Automotive Experiences

Hagerty honors long tradition of supporting local charitable partners
GREENWICH, Conn. (Nov. 23, 2021) – The 25th annual Greenwich Concours d’Elegance on October 22-23, 2021, offered more than expected to all generations of car fans at the Roger Sherman Baldwin Park in Greenwich, Conn.

The event incorporated two unique days of events, with Saturday presenting fun displays with something for the entire family, while Sunday’s Concours maintained the longtime tradition of showing off significant collector cars for the judges’ detailed scrutiny.

Hosting more than 10,000 car fans in its two days, Hagerty donated $25,000 to numerous local charities, including the Transportation Association of Greenwich and Arch Street, The Greenwich Teen Center. Hagerty also purchased supplies for the Boys & Girls Club of Greenwich.

From Saturday’s panel discussions that included industry titans alongside hobbyist car collectors, the RADwood cars of the ‘80s and ‘90s, the modified Porsches of Porschella, the unexceptional cars of Concours d’Lemons, to the classic domestic and international autos and even contemporary Supercars of Sunday’s Concours d’Elegance, there was something for everyone.

The seminars, led by noted author/journalist John Nikas, proved to be popular stops on the field and featured such topics as “What Comes Next [in the Auto Industry],” with industry visionaries Ralph Gilles, Ed Welburn and Grand Marshal Jay Ward of Pixar; “Shifting Gears,” with Dave Kinney, Rupert Banner, Miles Morris and Steve Serio; “How to Score the Ultimate Barn Find,” with “Barn Find Hunter” Tom Cotter, Wayne Carini and Peter Kumar; and “Concours, Car Shows and Cruise Nights,” with Dr. Paul Sable, Lowell Paddock, Phillip Richter and Ken Gross.

These seminars may be viewed on the Greenwich Concours d’Elegance Facebook Page.

Century milestones were celebrated in Sunday’s Concours by Duesenberg, Bentley 3-Litre and Moto Guzzi, while the Lancia marque displayed pre- and post-war models representing its history of innovation and racing glory. Right Coast Rods, a Ford vs. GM presence, 75 years of Allard, vintage SUVs, 120 years of Indian motorcycles, and the Springfield Rolls-Royce also delighted spectators.

Also, groundbreaking for an automotive concours was the introduction of the Greenwich Concours App that, once downloaded, provided attendees with maps, schedules, event info, FAQs, weather, the ability to reserve a seat at a seminar, and more.

“With two unique days of automotive enthusiasm to stir the senses, we believe we accomplished our goal,” said McKeel Hagerty, Greenwich Concours d’Elegance Chairman and CEO of Hagerty. “Seeing the large number of people, young and old, coming onto the field together and taking part in all the events was inspiring.”

Full results of the Concours and other awards may be viewed on the Greenwich Concours d’Elegance website.
