NEW HILLSDALE STATION OPENS

The new Hillsdale Station is now open! Tour the station in this video and view the new amenities, tile murals, and centerboard platform which allows riders to access both north and southbound trains with ease. Located between 28th and 31st Avenues, the new station connects riders to businesses, restaurants, world-class shopping, events and a variety of neighborhoods. 31ST AVENUE CONNECTION PROGRESSES

Crews are hard at work forming and pouring the retaining walls for the new east-west connection at 31st Avenue. The new connection provides easy access to the Hillsdale Mall and Bay Meadows Town Square, as well as the surrounding community. The new street is anticipated to open in late summer 2021.

25TH AVENUE ROAD LOWERING UNDERWAY

Building retaining walls at E. 25th Avenue

In March, the final lowering of E. 25th Avenue between S. Delaware Street and Palm Avenue began. Construction activities include excavation and the building of the retaining walls. Drivers are encouraged to use 28th Avenue during this time. The new road is anticipated to open late summer 2021. For more information click here.

Rendering of Completed 25th Avenue Grade Separation Project

Caltrain, in cooperation with the City of San Mateo, will raise the tracks and slightly lower the road (grade separate) at East 25th Avenue in San Mateo. This will improve safety for both motorists and pedestrians, and it will reduce local traffic congestion in San Mateo. In addition, the project will create new east-west street connections at 28th and 31st Avenues; and as part of the project improvements, Caltrain will build a new elevated Hillsdale Station with updated amenities.
