Spring has sprung!

We all have times of growth, brilliance, new starts, and bittersweet endings. Maybe it's the season, a budding new career path, or a community initiative. In this regard, we all are gardeners.

Spring is a great time to consider what you are cultivating and what you are weeding out. Both practices are of course needed in our gardens, but also our professional work and our civic responsibilities.

I hope you take a few minutes to enjoy the Spring sunshine and take stock of what truly needs tending personally, professionally, and in your community.

Wishing you all a happy Spring and the renewal to go grow good things... and whack a few weeds.

These assessments help work toward establishing an rural housing incentive district (RHID).

The RHID program allows cities and counties to address specific types of housing needs using the property tax increase created by the new housing project to pay for or reimburse certain infrastructure costs. The ability to defray developer costs allows cities and counties to finance certain public improvements to support housing in rural areas experiencing a shortage of housing.

The PPMC is currently working on housing assessments for both El Dorado and Hillsboro.

The PPMC conducted 26 focus groups in 2 months! We are so excited to have met this need for the Kansas Dept. of Commerce, but more importantly, to help improve Internet access across Kansas!
