The Chazan Gallery at Wheeler presents The Levitating Perils, a solo exhibition by mixed-media and experimental artist Frank WANG Yefeng, opening on February 10 and running until March 2. The artist's works frequently touches on what it has been like to live as a Chinese immigrant in the United States —"Yefeng left his place of origin at a young age, the memory from a migrant to a nomad has led him to investigate the transformation of emotions, autonomous objects of continuous movements, and the in-between states of nomadic subjects that occur in both virtual and physical realms." The show is sponsored by the Rhode Island College Faculty Scholarship Award Major Grant. The Chazan Gallery is located 228 Angell Street, Providence, Rhode Island. The gallery is open Monday through Friday from 3—6 p.m., Saturdays from 11 a.m.—4 p.m. and Sundays from 12 p.m.— 4 p.m. For more information, please visit here.

Bannister Gallery presents Don Smith: Space, Intuition, and Expression through February 11. The exhibition will be on view to only faculty and students for the rest of its duration, but there's plenty of materials online as well as a virtual artist tour. The exhibition features a variety of different painting techniques, including the method Smith called "Spatial". The process is as described: "The Spatial pieces are arrived at through a complicated format of drawing, usually done from life. Once the drawing is in place, Smith begins to paint over areas he feels to be extraneous, leaving various shapes or forms to which he assigns a particular color value." Bannister Gallery is located at 600 Mt. Pleasant Ave., Providence, Rhode Island. For more information, please visit here.

Bonnie Donohue : Work in Progress
In the Main Gallery, Rhonda Smith’s sculptures evoke humanity’s connection to the universe through the poetry of Rumi in Say That I Am You. Her multimedia pieces combine disparate elements of nature to create works that challenge the notion that destruction is our only future. In the Project Space Gallery, Bonnie Donohue’s Work in Progress utilizes historical maps and photographs to unpack the complex relationship between Puerto Rico and the United States over the past 125 years
