Last Week of the One Community Campaign - 5 Days Left!
Get us to 70% participation for Superintendent Burmeister to get a blue mohawk!

This is the final week of the One Community Campaign !  As of today, we’re at 42% family participation and we are $700,000 short of our goal. If we get to 70% participation, Superintendent Burmeister will let the four principals shave his head into a mohawk and dye it blue!

Elementary Principals video here .

Hillview Principal video here .

While the suggested donation is $2,000 per student and assures we can meet our financial goals, participation of every family at whatever level is most comfortable is our highest priority. The first $250 of your donation will go to Hillview 's PTO supporting the volunteer opportunities closest to your child. The balance of all donations will go to the MPAEF , which funds art, drama, music, library, world language, counseling, and lower-class sizes at Hillview. Pledging here is another great option- your donation will be due by March 1st, 2020.

If you’re still receiving emails from your OCC Outreach Steward and you have already given, given through a third party or are not planning on giving at this time, please let them know so we can make sure our records are correct and we can remove you from our Text-a-Thon list!!

Why I donate :
“I donate to both the PTO and MPAEF because I believe that it greatly enhances the already high-quality education the Menlo Park School District offers. Being part of the Hillview PTO board, I can see firsthand where my donations go to. For example, elective programs such as world language, music and art and the elective wheel are supported by the OCC and offer great enrichment for all students. I feel very fortunate for my children to be part of this great community and will always happily support it." – Claudia Tedesco

Hot Lunch Desperately Needs Volunteers!

The hot lunch program depends on volunteers to serve lunch every day. Parents generally volunteer once per month. The time commitment is less than an hour. The Monday and Friday teams need the most support. Hot lunch is a great way to meet other parents and gives you a chance to see your students in their natural habitat! Plus, you get a Lunchmaster meal credit per shift served. Email Becky Galvez here .

Eighth Grade - Screening and Moderated Discussion
Wednesday, October 2, 6:30 pm, Hillview PAC
Remember what it was like to be in eighth grade? Wondering what it will be like to parent an 8th-grade student or need support if that's where you are now? We are inviting all parents to come watch this raw, compelling, and critically acclaimed movie together. We will process what we see and ask questions of a panel of middle school experts after the show.
This movie is rated R, but Common Sense Media here recommends it for ages 14+. If you would like to bring your 7th- or 8th grade student, we strongly encourage you to read the Common Sense Media information and preview the movie at home before attending with your teen.

Local favorite Steve & Kate's Camp provides free childcare for potty-trained children. Free pizza dinner will be served to children in the childcare room.

Check out MPCSD Speaker website here . All events are free to the public and held at the Hillview PAC. Light snacks and beverages will be provided for attendees.
