Pharmacist Authorized to Order and Administer COVID-19 Tests
On 4/8/2020, HHS authorized pharmacists to order and administer COVID-19 tests. This not only is a recognition of the vital role pharmacists play in providing public health services, it also provides Americans easier and more convenient access to COVID-19 testing.
Before you start ordering the tests, you will need to understand which tests you can order and administer, the federal and state regulatory requirements, and the proper procedures to follow.

My Two Cents
Where do I begin? Since the publication of our first newsletter a month ago, the world has been turned upside down. For someone who has always planned out her next 12 months, the only plan I find myself making these days is an emergency plan.

Over the last few weeks, we have suffered unimaginable and incomprehensible losses. This situation has affected us all. It is a time of great sadness, confusion, and uncertainty. It has created all sorts of challenges at a global level and at a personal level.

With 26 million Americans unemployed, I am reminded of how fortunate I am to still have a job. I am grateful to be in the healthcare profession and honored to be working with all of you who continue to risk your own lives to take care of others.

As we continue to navigate this new reality, just remember the uncertainty of the present moment will pass. I thought about the things I will miss after the stay-at-home order is over, a few came to mind: the light traffic, the neighbors on the streets whom I never knew, a clear sky over LA, the clean air to breathe, and the humanity united in the fight to find a cure against a common threat.

As we continue to manage our work and our lives, taking a 15-minute meditation each day will help calm our minds and lower our stress.

We are all in this together!
