2Q 2025 Market Overview

On July 8th, we held our Q2 Pricing Review Meeting. During this session, we conducted a comprehensive analysis of every helicopter model listed in The Official Helicopter Blue Book®, comparing current resale values against recent global transactions.

Several key takeaways emerged from the review:

  • The overall market continues to show signs of slowing, though select segments remain notably active.
  • Both the supply of available helicopters and the volume of completed transactions have continued to decline across most Piston and Turbine models.

Please note: The Q2 2025 figures presented in the charts below are preliminary and may be subject to revision as additional transaction data becomes available in the coming months.

Important note on Piston Helicopter pricing:

The current piston market is displaying significant variability, with reported sales prices ranging widely and without clear patterns. As such, a more detailed analysis is required, and final pricing updates for piston models will take longer to complete.

Piston Helicopters

  • Piston helicopter inventory and transaction volume continued to decline this quarter, while average asking prices rose by approximately 9% quarter-over-quarter, indicating potential upward pressure on valuations despite reduced market activity.

Turbine Helicopters

  • Turbine helicopter inventory and transaction activity continued to decline this quarter, accompanied by a nearly 2% drop in average asking prices quarter-over-quarter, reflecting continued softening in the market.

Light Single Helicopters

  • The light single-engine helicopter segment experienced another quarterly decline in both supply and sales, while average asking prices dipped by approximately 1% quarter-over-quarter, signaling continued softening in the market.

Light Twin Helicopters

  • The light twin-engine helicopter segment saw a reduction in available supply this quarter, while sales activity held steady relative to Q1 2025. Average asking prices rose by approximately 8%, reflecting stronger pricing dynamics in this market.

Medium Helicopters

  • The medium helicopter segment experienced a decrease in available inventory alongside a rise in sales this quarter. Nonetheless, average asking prices declined by approximately 2.5% quarter-over-quarter, suggesting continued pricing pressure despite increased transaction activity.

Super Medium Helicopters

  • Super medium helicopter activity remained exclusively off-market this quarter, resulting in a lack of verifiable data to assess shifts in supply or transaction volume.

Heavy Helicopters

  • The heavy helicopter segment saw a reduction in available inventory this quarter, with sales levels remaining consistent. Average asking prices were unchanged from the previous quarter, indicating price stability despite reduced supply.
