Hello IAEE Midwestern Chapter Friends,


I hope you are enjoying a wonderful summer with your friends and family. As we reach the midpoint of the year, I am excited to share our latest newsletter with you. It is an honor to connect with a dedicated community of professionals who consistently elevate the exhibitions and events industry.


It was great to see many of you at our June education program at the Renaissance Schaumburg. Sherron Washington, M.A. led a dynamic and interactive session focused on the path to branding brilliance. Looking ahead, we have exciting programs planned to foster networking, provide education and to have some fun! Here is a glimpse of what’s coming up:

June Program Recap


On June 18th the IAEE Midwest Chapter hosted an enriching and engaging educational event titled "Branding Brilliance: Unleash Your Impact, Event, and Organization," designed to provide attendees with valuable insights and strategies for enhancing their branding efforts. The event featured Sherron Washington, M.A., a renowned marketing and communication professor, speaker, and author, who has shared her expertise for over two decades.

Sherron Washington is a distinguished marketing and communication (marcom) professional with extensive experience in developing simple, innovative, and results-driven strategies. She is the founder and CEO of The P3 Solution, a full-service marcom firm in the Washington, DC area, specializing in providing straightforward consulting and training services. Sherron is celebrated for her ability to create environments that foster authentic interactions and generate dynamic results. Her expressive personality and marcom expertise combine to encourage interactive engagement and amplify outcomes. Sherron’s commitment to genuine communication helps facilitate interest and engagement that yield substantial results.

Event Highlights:


The event included insightful roundtable discussions led by Sherron Washington, focusing on critical aspects of branding. The topics explored included:


Positioning Your Brand to Stand Out from Competitors

  • Discussion on effective strategies to distinguish one's brand in a competitive market.

Leveraging Social Media Platforms

  • Examination of various social media platforms and their roles in enhancing brand visibility and engagement.

Evaluating and Improving Personal Brand Strength

  • Participants assessed their personal branding efforts and discussed plans for improvement.

Distinguishing "Keeping it Authentic" vs. "Keeping it Real"

  • Exploration of these concepts in the context of personal branding and how they influence brand identity.


These roundtables provided attendees with the opportunity to share their experiences, gain new perspectives, and develop actionable ideas to enhance their branding strategies.


Networking Reception:


Following the roundtables, attendees were invited to a networking reception, offering a relaxed environment to continue conversations, share insights, and build new connections. This segment of the event further facilitated relationship-building and collaboration among industry professionals.


Impact and Value:


Overall, the "Branding Brilliance" event provided an excellent platform for attendees to connect, exchange ideas, and gain valuable insights into branding. By focusing on collaboration and engagement, the IAEE Midwest Chapter created a meaningful and impactful experience, enabling participants to enhance their branding efforts and build key relationships within the industry. The event underscored the importance of innovative and authentic branding practices, setting the stage for future success and growth.

These events are being hosted by the Young Professionals Committee, but are complimentary and open for all IAEE members to attend.

IAEE National YP Meetup – Midwestern Chapter: November 7 at 12:00pm at Guiness Open Gate Brewery. (This meetup will take place in conjunction with our chapter’s Annual Meeting!)

Bob Dallmeyer Education Fund

The mission of the Bob Dallmeyer Education Fund (BDEF) is to support international exhibitions and events industry education and professional development. The fund is designed for event professionals worldwide, including young professionals and emerging leaders, professionals new to the exhibitions and events industry and those that are interested in in learning about the global marketplace.
