Dear Friends,

I am thrilled to share the latest update on HRI's accomplishments during the first 6 months of 2013:
  • 972,000 meals provided to 2,450 orphans and vulnerable children!
  • School supplies given to 950 children.
  • 25 new safe, energy efficient stoves built.
  • 6 Sanitation, Health and Hygiene trainings provided.
  • 2 new community gardens planted - vegetables already being harvested, eaten, and sold.
  • 11 mission teams in two countries.
  • And much, much more!

Transforming futures through innovative projects...

Building upon the success of our two community garden projects in Guatemala, and with professional support and input from colleagues in Israel and Oklahoma, HRI is working on a Sustainable Community Agriculture Initiative that has the potential to transform farming in three neighboring communities in Guatemala from subsistence to income generating.

Our community gardens are already producing hundreds of pounds of nutritious produce that is complimenting HRI school-feeding programs and improving child nutrition at home! With a bigger investment, more land, and on the ground, expert leadership we can have an even greater impact. Through a community driven agricultural system, HRI plans to empower women, teach children, improve access to nutritious food and increase household income. This project will put communities on a viable pathway towards a healthy, self-sustainable future.

HRI is able to implement these wonderful programs only with the support of donors like you. We are extremely appreciative for all of the support we have received so far this year and I ask you to please consider a gift to HRI today.

We need you in order to continue our work changing the lives of orphans and vulnerable children. It's easy...

Thank you!
