United Way – a leader in philanthropy with a credo that is worldwide – is a brand you expect accountability and transparency from through results-based community initiatives and investment opportunities. All over the world, United Ways are trusted to serve as a catalyst for positive change.

Locally, I write to you with excitement as we embrace change while remaining focused on providing meaningful and engaging opportunities that are timely and purposeful. With our mission and services at the core of our business model, United Way Manitowoc County’s role has evolved in order to better connect individual and corporate passions, to tackle complex social issues at their root, and to improve the impact of contributions.

As the United Way network embraces today’s society and the modern ways of philanthropy, you can count on your United Way. We are here to serve as a community convener and partner, give value to philanthropy as a resource to shape society for the better, and to lift up gifts and talents to increase community capacity around tough issues.

Day of Action 2019

United Way’s annual Day of Action, a global day of service where thousands of people from more than 400 communities across the world volunteer their time to make their community a better place, is taking place on Friday, June 21.

Locally, United Way Manitowoc County is mobilizing volunteers - individuals, company teams, and community groups - to complete projects at a variety of nonprofit organizations
across the county.

If you are interested in learning more about how you can volunteer your time in our community, we invite you to sign up for an in person training about our Volunteer Connection Center. This training is also perfect for those who would like to learn more about signing up themselves or a team for our annual Day of Action event. Panera Fundraising Night - June 18

Support United Way Manitowoc County by dining at the Manitowoc Panera on Tuesday, June 18 from 4-8 pm! Panera will donate 20% of your meal when you show our flyer – printed out or on your phone. Click here for the flyer.   
2018 FamilyWize Savings

United Way partners with FamilyWize to offer important, free prescription discount cards to everyone in our community. In 2018, Manitowoc County residents saved $86,376.20 on their prescription medications by using their FamilyWize prescription discount cards. You can start saving on your medications by getting your own FREE FamilyWize prescription discount card. Cards can be picked up at our office or printed out online

2-1-1 Chat and Text Features

To increase access to our 2-1-1 helpline, last year United Way 2-1-1 introduced chat and live two-way texting. By texting your zip code to 898211, a trained Information and Referral Specialist will answer your texts Monday through Friday from 8:00 am to 5 pm.

As always, you can dial 2-1-1 24 hours a day, 365 days a year for easy access to health and human services. You can also search our online directory of resources 24/7 at 211now.org . To learn more about our 2-1-1 Helpline, click here
