2020 2 nd Quarter | Newsletter
Let's Talk Housing
Dear Community-
In what feels like a couple blinks of an eye we are already half way through the year. Throughout the last couple of months, we all have been adjusting to our new normal. During these times I have been inspired on how we come together and demonstrate acts of kindness to those of us who need it the most. At A-1CHS our main goal is to reach out to our community to educate and support. Although we are limiting the face to face appointments, we are offering telephone and virtual one on one sessions. As well as virtual seminars and first-time homebuyer workshops.
We had a great turn out for our virtual courses, that added to our amazing 2 nd quarters as a community. We look forward to the day that we can be face to face with those of whom we assist, but until then this is the new normal. Hard times inspire creativity, and flexibility. Together we strive to help all those in need in our community.

Stay Healthy,

A-1 community Housing Services has partnered up with the City of Hayward to bring these valuable workshops to our community.

J oin us monthly for a 1-hour webinar to hear updates and get information, resources related to an existing mortgage. Hear directly from lenders on Mortgage Protection Programs related to COVID-19. The goal of Mortgage and Default Foreclosure Prevention education and counseling is to give homeowners tools and information in order to KEEP their home. Our counselors will help homeowners assess their hardship, explain workout options, provide budget counseling and assist with the submission of a loan modification application. Facilitate communication between the client and their mortgage servicer and provide any additional supportive referrals as needed.

Client Spotlight
The program was very informative, and it also introduced us to our realtor. We did not think we would be purchasing a home until 2021. After walking through A-1 Community Housing Services’ First Time Homebuyer Program we were able to start our purchase process at the end of 2019. We worked with Wells Fargo and we were quickly approved. Our realtor, Lillie Turner, who we met through the program was amazing. She was very knowledgeable. I would tell anyone if you are not sure whether you are able to buy a home, just go to the class. You may be surprised what you find out. We attended the class in June of 2019 and put an offer on a home in Dec of 2019. Joanne and Nancy were very realistic and honest in their advice. So, thank you for getting us to our dream sooner.
