2nd Quarter Newsletter

Celebrating achievements, building connections, and creating new opportunities for our participants and community.

Our Mentorship Program Is Off to a Great Start!

What an unforgettable day at our First Annual Mentorship Picnic! We came together to celebrate the incredible impact of our mentors, honor our fathers and father figures, and create lasting memories with our mentees and families.

The laughter, fellowship, connections, and shared experiences made this a truly special occasion for everyone involved. It was a beautiful reminder of the power of mentorship and the importance of surrounding our youth with encouragement, guidance, and support.

A heartfelt thank you to our Aviation Director, dedicated Board Members, and amazing Mentors for volunteering your time, talents, and support to help make this spectacular experience possible. Your commitment to investing in the lives of our youth continues to inspire and strengthen our community.

Congratulations to Kelsey Griffin on earning her private pilot license! This is an outstanding milestone and a reflection of her hard work, discipline, and dedication to aviation.

A graduate of Woodland High School and the Academy for Advanced Studies, Kelsey has excelled academically with a 4.27 GPA, graduating in the top 10% of her class and earning recognition as a Georgia Certificate of Merit Scholar. As a dual enrollment student at Southern Crescent Technical College, she made history as the first student in the Henry County School System to earn a certification in Small Unmanned Aircraft Systems, demonstrating both leadership and technical skill.

Her passion for aviation, sparked early in life, led her into flight training with Aviation Career Enrichment (ACE), where she has now successfully completed her journey to becoming a licensed pilot. We are proud of her achievement and excited to see her continue at Middle Georgia State University as she pursues her goal of becoming a commercial airline pilot.

Congratulations to Angel on being selected as a recipient of the Speedway Flight Training Scholarship Fund!

We are incredibly proud of you for reaching this milestone, and even more excited to see you take this next step toward earning your Private Pilot License. Wishing you continued success as you begin logging those flight hours and moving closer to your dream of becoming a pilot.

Congratulations to Michael Koffron on being selected as a recipient of the Delta Air Lines Foundation scholarship through the MGA Foundation. This is an incredible achievement and a reflection of your hard work and dedication. We look forward to seeing all the great things he will achieve in this next season.

We are proud to congratulate Falyssa Ly for earning the prestigious LinkedIn Tech Scholar Award, valued at $40,000. She will also be returning for her second year with the Georgia Tech Research Institute (GTRI) STEM Research Program.

In addition to this honor, she is an AP Capstone Diploma recipient, an AP Scholar with Distinction, and a Computer Science & Engineering Pathway completer. She has completed 19 AP courses while also participating in Mercer University dual enrollment, and she serves as President of the Computer Science Honor Society.

Her dedication, leadership, and academic excellence are truly worth celebrating.

We are proud to congratulate KenMetrius Miller on earning a full-ride scholarship to Liberty University. KenMetrius has been a part of our aviation program since the very beginning, and we have been honored to watch his growth, dedication, and passion for aviation develop over the years.

We are proud to congratulate Kordell Lewis on his graduation and for being awarded a $2,000 MDF Scholarship. Kordell has been a dedicated participant in our Youth in Aviation program and has remained actively involved in each event.

He will be continuing his education at Tuskegee University, where he plans to study Aerospace Engineering. His commitment, growth, and positive attitude have made him a valued part of our program, and we look forward to seeing him continue to soar to new heights.
