Wednesday Nite Bible Study Will Resume After Easter

From The Zucchetto

Last Monday on the way back to Dallas, Nancy said, “I can’t remember a time when I couldn’t wait to go to church and when I was sorry it was over.”

That’s exactly how I feel about the saints of St. Paul’s. What God has produced here, and what he will continue to give rise to, thrills my heart and soul. God is here at St. Paul’s. Do you feel it? Do you sense it? What you and I sense and feel is God showering us with his love, and grace, mercy and forgiveness. One can hardly get enough of it. Yet God wants to give us even “more”. And the “more” comes as we do some spiritual work on ourselves. Things like self-examination and repentance; by prayer, fasting, and self-denial; and by reading and meditating on God’s holy Word, the Bible. (continue reading)

Today’s Stewardship Pearl

This week's Pearl reminds people that stewardship is much more than just financial; work is often a ministry in itself.

“God is not unjust; he will not forget your work and the love you have shown him as you have helped his people and continue to help them.”                           Hebrews 6 : 10

2026 40 Days of Gratitude & Reciprocity

with United Thank Offering (UTO)

Week 2: This week we are continuing our Lenten journey with UTO by focusing on our family, either the one we were born into or the ones we call family. In the narthex are UTO Blue Boxes, donation envelopes, and brochures that explain the work of UTO. Palm Sunday, March 29, we will collect boxes and envelopes as a part of our UTO celebration. You can also join a 5 session Lenten Book Group (beginning Tues. Feb. 24 at 12:00 Noon) with UTO at: https://unitedthankoffering.com/lent/, also view Weekly E-pistle for links.

UTO was founded in the late 1800s to encourage Episcopalians to practice gratitude and make a thank offering to support innovative mission and ministry around the globe. 100% of all donations given to UTO are given away the following year.

“Looking for Lectors”

Would you like to be one of our readers on Sunday mornings?  We would love to welcome you into our Worship Ministry to take an active part in our weekly services by reading the weekly scriptures and Prayers of the People. If wearing vestments and reading from the high altar does not appeal to you, you may choose to read from the floor podium if you prefer —whichever feels most comfortable for you.

If this ministry speaks to your heart, please reach out to Debbie Shaffer at 210‑725‑8892 or debshaffer_tx@yahoo.com. We would be delighted to have you join us in this rich and meaningful ministry.

Diary of a Theologian

George Washington's Rules

It being Washington’s birthday this last week, several folks have pointed to his “Rules of Civility” that, as a young man, he wrote into his school book. (You can find them easily by googling “Washington Rules of Civility.”) Some of his “rules” seem particularly good advice for us in our politically and socially fraught time. And some of them also seem particularly apt consequences of the teaching of Jesus. I will quote two.  (continue reading)
