FOR THE COST OF POVERTY EXPERIENCE (COPE)

Saturday, July 20, from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m.

at Fellowship Church (8000 Middlebrook Pike)

This poverty simulation breaks down preconceived notions of poverty. In just 3 hours it allows you to live a month in the life of a low-income family, seeing the world through their eyes, feeling the chaos and anxiety of poverty.

You will come away forever changed.

Please arrive a little early to fill out a survey. RSVPs are required by July 16.

It’s That Time Again!

West View Elementary Workday – 16 Years and Counting

Volunteers are needed for different areas:

Outdoor – Weeding and clearing beds, planting flowers, mulching, pruning, placing decorative rocks on the campus, etc.
Indoor – bulletin boards, library preparation, laminating classroom materials, organizing game sets, staff and class personalized appreciation notes, preparing teacher goodie bags, touch-up painting of phrases on walls and doors, etc.

It will likely be a warm day, but plenty of cold water and snacks will be available.

This is a cooperative effort by Second Pres, Westminster Pres, and Clear Defense Pest Control.

Please sign up online so that we can right-size the work crew. When you sign up, please indicate you are from 2nd Pres.

NOTE: Wheelbarrows are needed! Also, outside volunteers should bring shovels, rakes, gloves, gardening tools, and sunscreen.

Maxi pads
Dish soap
Deodorant
Toothpaste
Bar soap
Shampoo
Size 4 Diapers

All food purchases and other items our coordinating team makes are paid for from a church-designated fund specific to the Fish mission. If you feel called to contribute to that fund, you can do so at any time of the year by check (Fish Fund in the memo line), the church website (click on “Give,” then “Fish” in the Fund drop-down), or Realm (click on “Giving,” then “Fish” in the Fund drop-down).
