Among the Vision 2020 Allied Organizations taking part in Toast to Tenacity was Georgia-based Women Voters USA. Their champagne bottle was opened in dramatic fashion by a wine steward wielding a sword.
Toast to Tenacity Webcast Draws 3,000+
Vision 2020's kickoff event for the Women 100 celebration drew nearly 2,500 viewers to the live webcast of Toast to Tenacity™ and another 735 people have watched the replay, available on the Toast to Tenacity web page. This nationwide tribute to the suffragists took place August 26, the day the 19th Amendment to the U.S. Constitution became law 100 years ago.

The event garnered TV, radio and print news coverage in Philadelphia as well as more than 30 media outlets around the country, in France and South Korea. SHE Leads Road Rally: October 16-17

Buckle your seatbelts! A motorcade led by women race car drivers will embark on a historic round-trip from Philadelphia, PA to Seneca Falls, New York on October 16 and 17. Vision 2020 leaders and volunteers will retrace the journey of Lucretia Mott and her suffragist compatriots as they traveled to the first Women’s Rights Convention in 1848.

Vision 2020 will commemorate the SHE Leads Road Rally through a short film, which will be used to amplify the message of women driving change and driving the vote as the 2020 general election approaches. For more information or to get involved, contact Elowyn Corby, Vision 2020 program manager, at

Women’s Leadership Forums: November 4

Join a dozen prominent women leaders from across the nation for a conversation about gender equality past, present and future at the Women's Leadership Forums, a free Women 100 virtual event on November 4.

Three panels are featured: An Historical Look at Active Women’s Citizenry (10-11:30 am), Women’s Leadership in Our Time (1-2:30 pm), and The Unfinished Business of Women’s Equality: Leadership for the Future (3:30-4:30 pm). In addition, the Pew Research Center will offer a briefing at 12 pm about its August FactTank report on national perceptions of gender equality and women in leadership.

Voter Mobilization
Teams Grow Participation in Vision2020Votes

The Association of Junior Leagues International (AJLI) has amassed the largest team on Vision2020Votes, Vision 2020's nationwide online voter mobilization effort. The goal of Vision2020Votes is to break the record for women voting in this year’s national election.

As of September 17, the AJLI team had 907 members; Hadassah had the second largest team with 237 members. The online platform uses team building and game-like activities to increase the likelihood that participants will cast a ballot in November.

Did You Know Women Lost the Vote Before They Won?

More than a century before the 19th Amendment enfranchised women as voters, women and free people of color legally voted in New Jersey for more than 30 years. In the groundbreaking new exhibition When Women Lost the Vote: A Revolutionary Story, 1776 – 1807, opening October 2, the Museum of the American Revolution in Philadelphia will explore – as no exhibit, book or other medium has before – the little-known history of the nation’s first women voters. Visitors will learn about the political conflicts that led to these voting rights being stripped away.

The Women 100 Seat at the Table exhibition at Philadelphia’s Kimmel Center for the Performing Arts will be open through June 2021 whenever the Kimmel Center is open.
