A Message from Rev. Tim

Each year, on Ash Wednesday, we enter the Season of Lent – the period of forty weekdays before Easter. During Lent, we are encouraged to embrace our ultimate dependency upon God and deepen our faith in the promises of Christ through such practices as fasting, prayer, and acts of mercy and compassion. Lent is, in its essence, an annual invitation to begin again, reset our priorities, and turn our hearts and minds back toward God. So, in the words of the Prayer Book, “I invite you, therefore, in the name of the Church, to the observance of a holy Lent.”

On Sunday, February 19, each Advent household will receive a collection bag at one of our services. Fill the bag with peanut butter, jelly (grape or strawberry), and/or toilet paper, and return your bag to church by Palm Sunday. If you fill your bag and would like another, please let us know! Thank you in advance for your generosity!

Training for Eucharistic Visitors

Sunday, March 26th at 11:15am

Eucharistic Visitors perform an extraordinarily important ministry within the life of our congregation. Eucharistic Visitors - working in pairs - take communion to members of our church who are not able to be present with us in worship. Currently, we are in need of additional volunteers who are willing to serve in this important role. Rev. Tim will host an information session and training in his office for all interested parishioners. Please contact Rev. Tim if you have any questions or if you plan to attend the training on March 26th ([email protected]).

Our Life in God

What does our faith say about the nature of God? Why is our trinitarian understanding of God significant? How do the sacraments of Holy Baptism and Holy Communion (Eucharist) form and inform our lives as followers of Jesus? On Wednesday evenings in March, Rev. Tim will lead us in an exploration of these questions and more! We will begin at 6 pm each evening with a potluck meal and wrap up at 7:30. Come, and take part in this opportunity for learning, discussion, and fellowship! Please plan to arrive at 5:45pm for potluck set-up.

  • Advent has volunteered for many years for the Chester County Youth Center. The program provides temporary, secure and safe custody to youth who are involved in the juvenile justice system. Volunteers fill lunch size paper bags with gifts for boys and girls ages 12 to 17. Also volunteers fill large Christmas stockings and small holiday candy bags at times such as Halloween, Valentine’s Day and Easter. Lovely way for families to get involved as well as individuals. More volunteers are needed to continue this ministry. Please contact Suzanne Pusey at [email protected] or call or text 610 405 8548 for details.
