Boosting Confidence: Creative Ways D93 Students Stay Cool During Testing

With state assessments starting this week, CCSD93’s schools are coming up with unique ways to help students stay cool.

At Heritage Lakes Elementary School, 3rd graders made their own Encouragement Cups filled with self-written affirmations on popsicle sticks. When they need a little break or confidence boost, they can pull and read an encouraging message from themselves.

Meanwhile, Stratford Middle School welcomed partners from Northeast DuPage Family and Youth Services (NEDFYS) for a mini-lesson on test prep and managing test anxiety.

While there’s no need to stress, these methods and more are helping CCSD93 students to stay calm and confident.

Bringing Stories to Life: Author Visits Western Trails

This week, Western Trails welcomed author and illustrator Jacob Grant! He met with K-2 students, read his latest book, Umami, and taught them how to draw its lovable main character. Mr. Grant stayed for a book signing for students who purchased one of his publications.

Sound-Sational Learning at Cloverdale

Recently, 1st Grade at Cloverdale had a sound-sational learning experience! They wrapped up their sound unit with a hands-on workshop from DuPage ROE, making harmonicas and exploring percussion.
