Head's Note
Dear Crossroads Community,
First, let me say how grateful I am for our community. I have heard from many of you over the last several days and appreciate all of the information and support you have shared. As you know, over the last few weeks, we have implemented community health protocols, regularly wiped down surfaces, encouraged frequent hand washing, and begun to prepare for the possibility of an extended school closure that would involve distance learning for our students. As a result, I believe our campus remains safe and is well prepared for the school closure that is recommended by the NH Department of Education beginning today, Monday, March 16.
The school closing will likely continue through Friday, April 3 but could be extended longer. You can expect regular updates from Crossroads during the duration of the school’s closure. As we receive pertinent information from the NH Department of Education, the Department of Health and Human Services, or other sources, we will share it with our community. In the meantime, I know I speak for the faculty when I say that it is our hope that at some point this spring, school life will return to normal and our classrooms will once again be filled with engaged and curious students working with passionate teachers. We will miss seeing each other and seeing all of you! The coming weeks will be a new experience for all of us, but these are circumstances that we have prepared for, and I am confident that our community of learners is up for the challenge and will grow stronger in new ways through the process.
Please stay healthy and safe. It is a difficult time for many people in our community and around the world, and I appreciate your support as we move through this time together.
Yours truly, Brad

News From The Health Office
Dear Parents and Family Members,
Below are useful links for you to use as a resource for COVID-19 information.
The links include how to prepare at home, symptoms to watch for, a hotline number with NH Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS), what to do if you are sick, and how to manage stress and anxiety. There are additional helpful links to NH DHHS and NH Department of Education.
The classic symptoms of COVID-19 include fever, cough, and shortness of breath. If you suspect you or a family member has COVID-19, please call your physician or use the New Hampshire hotline (211). Do not go to emergency rooms unless advised by your physician. If you become ill, self-isolate and follow the instructions on the link below.
Stay healthy and make the most of being together as a family, enjoying the outdoors, and relaxing at home. I will communicate new information as the situation evolves at school and in the community.
Sincerely,
Kathy Barth, School Nurse

Faculty Update for 2020-21 School
Year
Please Welcome Kelsey Keith, First Grade Assistant
Kelsey Keith received her BA in Early Childhood Development from Colby-Sawyer College. Over the last five years, Kelsey taught preschool, directed an after-school program, and most recently, directed a private nursery school in Woodstock, Vermont. In each of these positions, Kelsey has been dedicated to engaging her students through her curriculum and a healthy exposure to the outdoors and the arts. Kelsey also enjoys bringing practices such as mindfulness and yoga into the classroom. In every facet of her teaching, Kelsey cares deeply about human connection with her students and helping to promote social-emotional awareness.
In her spare time, Kelsey enjoys snowboarding, travelling, and taking hikes with her dog, Pannikin. She loves spending time with her family in her hometown in Massachusetts soaking up the ocean water. Kelsey is especially excited to learn more about the Core Knowledge and Core Virtues programs. She looks forward to growing and learning from the Crossroads Academy community!

Teaching For the Future: Fostering Curiosity
|
A parent who is considering sending his children to Crossroads Academy next year had one goal in mind for their next school: it had to be a learning environment where they became more curious about the world.
