| | Spring Break! Join Bowling Down Main Street THIS SATURDAY March 29 |
Rain or shine! Harbor Springs closes Main street to let kids bowl! On Saturday, March 29, from noon to 2 p.m., kids of all ages will be able to, quite literally, bowl down Main Street*. It all started as a joke about how Main Street is typically not too busy in this shoulder season, and it continues every year around April Fools Day. Join in the fun, whether it’s rain, shine, snow, wind, summer-like temps - you name it, the Harbor Springs Chamber will be there, at the intersection of State and Main, next to Johan's Pastry Shop.
In addition to bowling, check out these fun and mostly free features for the kids:
- Get a FREE hot chocolate and donut for the kids at Johan's
-
Northern Lights Recreation will be giving away a FREE bowling card to all participants.
- Rocking Horse Toy Co. will be giving away a FREEbie!
-
Harbor Springs Lyric Theatre will be showing Peter Rabbit for 25 cents at 10 a.m.
- Great Start Parent Coalition will give away FREE books to all children at their information table.
- Little Traverse Bay Humane Society will also be attending with some adoptable pets.
Brought to you by: The Harbor Springs Chamber of Commerce and Northern Lights Recreation.

Nichole Hall
Birch Tree Bakery & Cafe
Owner
Seeing how our customers and community support us and each other has been one of the biggest "highlights" for me. For us it's more than just serving coffee and baked goods, it's about making you smile, sending you into Monday with a good laugh, providing a welcoming environment for someone to work or the girls to catch up. It's being able to be apart of your day, no matter what kind of day you are having, we are here with coffee, hugs and sarcasm. It's about community.
There's so much that inspires me. I am so inspired by all our high school staff members. They are the best reminder that we are here to do good. It's such an honor to be leading these young members of our community and being a good example for them is what drives me to do better each day.
My advice for for young women in business is simple in nature, but difficult in execution. What ever it is you want to pursue, just go after it, don't get stuck in the planning phase. Make your plan and go. Don't bother trying to get your plan perfect, it will change as you get going anyway. Don't get caught up in trying to learn EVERY single thing, get your baseline knowledge, master a skill and just jump in. You can spend years stuck in the planning and learning phase, you will end up thinking you're not ready, that you don't know enough. And you'll be right, but it doesn't matter, you won't ever truly know until you do it. It won't be easy, it won't be quick, it will take time, effort and energy, but if you stick with it, it is SO worth it.

Kelly Nash
Under the Stars Glamping and 1902 Resort and Retreats
Co-Owner/Designer
Interaction with our customers and creating an event to meet their expectations is the best part of our business. It's amazing to see their vision come to life and to help them create memories!
I'm inspired by watching my introvert husband/business partner step into very unfamiliar territory in owning a hospitality business and truly excelling at it!
Advice for young women in business today is learn as many different skills as you can! You never know when you might use them. And treat everyone with kindness and respect. Anyone that you encounter could be a future client or someone who refers business to you.

Crystal Jewell
Crystal Clean & Professional Services
Owner
A highlight of owning a cleaning business is that I am able to offer custom services that set us apart from others in the area. This allows me to maintain a business that aligns with my values, work ethic and reliability. Plus satisfaction of happy clients is very rewarding, knowing that my team and I were able to help a client take a simple or even large task off their plate.
Advice: Success is all about what you put into it… your effort, mindset and determination. The business world is constantly evolving and at times, you’ll have to reinvent the wheel to stay ahead. That means being adaptable, learning new skills and embracing change rather than fearing it. Challenges will come, but with resilience and the right mindset, anything is achievable. Your growth and success are in your hands—so put in the work, stay persistent and keep moving forward.
