Dear Students and Parents:
I hope email finds everyone healthy and safe at home. As our community continues to adapt to our new realities, day-after-day our students and faculty are doing an amazing job with online learning. With two weeks under our belt, Notre Dame is averaging a 95.6% attendance/work completion rate. Thank you to all of our parents for your ongoing support! Notre Dame's transition to online learning has been tremendously smooth thanks to everyone's commitment and efforts. This was highlighted in a
article this past week.

I have a few updates this morning:
1) The past few weeks have been extremely stressful and, quite honesty, exhausting for everyone. In recognition of this fact and realizing the amazing work students and staff have been doing each day, the Superintendent has decided that our April break will be extended by a few days. Break will now run from Monday, April 6 through Friday, April 17. Classes will resume on Monday, April 20.
This extended break will give teachers an opportunity to prepare lessons for the likely continuation of online learning into at least May. When teachers first began preparations for this new way of teaching, I asked them to develop a two week unit. It now looks very likely that it will extend well beyond that. This break will not only give teachers an opportunity to lesson plan, but also to have chance to catch their breath. As I've mentioned before, when and if we return to the building this spring will be decided based upon direction from the Governor and local health officials.

3) When communicating with teachers, students are asked to please use their ND email account (versus a personal email - as it can sometimes be difficult to determine who the email is coming from.)
4) We are looking to spotlight our seniors on social media and celebrate their college acceptances/decisions. Seniors are asked to complete a Google Form by
and send an email with a picture to Mrs. Marko (
) either wearing college swag or holding a pennant/acceptance letter, etc. We look forward to sharing everyone's good news with our community.
