Head's Note

I hope the third week of distance learning is beginning well for you and your families. We know it can be challenging to balance the support of children’s learning with work and other obligations, and I am grateful for all you are doing to facilitate distance learning for your children. Behind the scenes, faculty and staff are in continual communication and also working hard to provide instruction and support for students' independent work. If you have specific suggestions or have discovered strategies that are working with your family, please share them! In the meantime, let us know if there is anything we can do to support your multiple responsibilities at home.

Yours truly, Brad

PS. In this week’s blog below, I’ve included links to resources for distance learning that may be helpful.

COVID-19 Update
The State of NH has begun an official Stay at Home Order, and continued Distance Learning for Schools, which is in effect until May 4.

There is a lot of information in the media on COVID-19, including some information that may not be accurate. Please be sure to access NH DHHS or the CDC for the most reliable information we have available, and remind your children to do the same.

If you have photos of your child working hard and/or having fun at home, please send along to Erin at communications@crossroadsacademy.org
Update from the Lower School

We are adding extra Zoom opportunities to the Lower School distance learning experience. These sessions are optional- pick and choose as best fits your schedule. We will be updating and modifying the offerings weekly. Please bookmark our live document (below) for convenience. This will be the page to check when you need links and times. Enjoy! And happy learning.

Update from the Middle School

You Come Too:   Congratulations to the 7th Grade and Mr. Glazer for the "You Come Too" event last Thursday night. Grade 7 shared Frost poems they had memorized with an online audience over Zoom. It was attended by other Middle School students, parents and teachers. Congratulations to all!

Homeroom  Zoom session begins this week with a Monday Homeroom session. We are also adding  Lunch Chat  sessions for each grade level this week and next. Find out more about these in this week's Live Session Schedule.

Distance Learning: Week 3
Each week, the teachers and I read the Marshall Memo, a newsletter that provides summaries on 8-10 of the most thought-provoking articles in education recently published. This week’s Memo also provided resources for families who are in distance learning.
