The Morning Star Weekly Newsletter Vol 5, Edition 31 3/30/2021
Dear Morning Star Families and Friends,

The Diocese will continue its mask protocol for all Catholic Schools. Morning Star students will wear their masks as usual in class. All students from K-12 have done an outstanding job following all our protocols, I am very proud of them.

Please remember, SUFS needs to have all families’ applications and required documents by June 1 to process them for a full scholarship. SUFS recognizes that it is very likely that there will be tremendous changes to the scholarship programs and processes. They are already making plans to address these changes. SUFS and FES are now once-in, always-in scholarships, but because of the impending changes, they need every family to fill out another application. This must be done prior to June 1, 2021. Mrs. Misner in the front office has sent multiple emails with this information. All Morning Star families that have SUFS or FES scholarships must renew their application for next school year by June 1. If you have any questions at all, please contact the front office.

If your child has never been able to receive a scholarship, either McKay, Gardiner, SUFS, or FES this might be a good time to apply for either the Step Up For Students or Florida Empowerment Scholarship. Requirements are changing and you might qualify now when in the past you did not. Since it is now likely that the prior-year-in-a-public-school requirement will go away, you might be able to receive the FES scholarship!! Remember, you can not take funds from multiple scholarships. One scholarship per students. Example: If you have the McKay scholarship, you can not apply for FES and take that funding as well. You must choose one or the other. Again, please call the office if you have any questions.

I would like to wish all Morning Star families a happy and safe Easter holiday.

Blessings,
Elaine Shott, Principal

WE NEED PRIZES AND AUCTION DONATIONS!
Games and Silent auctions are a great way to maximize revenue for our school. And, no event would be complete without fun prizes and a few tables filled with exciting auction packages. Items such as travel/dining experiences, sporting event tickets, beauty and spa certificates, sports memorabilia, music and entertainment venues, family outings, technology, gift baskets, jewelry and high-end items are just a few ideas. And of course, monetary donations are always appreciated. No item is too small or too large. We will put anything you provide to good use.

In addition to items your family donates, please ask the businesses you frequent to also help out. Click HERE to print a “Community Partner” letter that you may use when speaking to a business. Please make sure to also complete a donation form so we can thank you (and others) properly. Click HERE to print the donation form.

To discuss sponsor packages, prize donations or other ways you can help, please contact Maria Johnson, Director of Development, at (904) 962-5080 or [email protected]
