Message from President
 Bonnie Chapman

Greetings Soroptimists!

Do you know what really bugs me?

Discreetly placed microphones

I want to encourage all of you to really consider attending our Sierra Nevada Regional conference which is coming up April 26-28 in Reno, Nevada. Here are the reasons to go;
  1. Your perspective of what it means to be a Soroptimist will be blown out of the water. The empowerment that I guarantee you will feel from being surrounded by hundreds of other women from all around doing important work and sharing our mission and values is worth everything.
  2. We never stop learning about ourselves and giving yourself this weekend as an opportunity to focus on gleaning nuggets of wisdom is a true gift.
  3. Hanging out with your Soropti-sisters allows our relationships to build and flourish. We bond through time spent.
  4. It's FUN! Not only do we attend sessions, learn, break bread together but we also have cocktails, hit the tables in the casino and generally carouse!
So, think about it. Let me know if you have questions. There are 2 scholarships available for members who have been in the club less than two years. You won't regret spending two short days Soroptimizing.

It's another great week to be a Soroptimist!

With Gratitude,
Soroptimist International of Chico
President, 2018-2019
This Week's Program

March Member of the Month
Natalie Conrad

I was born in Philadelphia at a naval hospital and left 3 days later as my mother's pregnancy was the cause of her discharge from the Navy. My father's Air Force career moved my family from place to place. As a result, I went to 10 schools in 12 years. This was not necessarily a bad thing because it helped me to make friends easily and be adaptable to different environments. My favorite place that I lived was Spain. I started high school in New Jersey, but graduated in Roseville, California. I married and had three children. Then remarried and gained two more children. Since we had custody of all of the children it was just like The Brady Bunch.... except... Alice never showed up to cook dinner and clean! I've had many adventures, lots of good times, and been through lots of hard times (and therapy!). Rather than go into all of that I want to share with you two things that I am most proud of.

SI Chico's quarterly newsletter has been mailed out.  For those who have opted out of receiving it via USPS or are not on our mailing list here it is for your reading enjoyment.  You can also find it on our website and on our public FB page.
