Dear Friend of CCSD93,
Jazz Bands Put on a Show for Local Retirees!
Yesterday, members of the Stratford and Jay Stream middle school jazz bands played a 30-minute concert for residents at Windsor Park Retirement Community. For students it was a terrific opportunity to gain a relevant educational experience of playing for an authentic audience within the community. For residents it was a delightful chance to hear the talented younger generation in a convenient setting.

I was able to attend, and the musicians, audience, and setting were tremendous! Click the image below for a quick video on it.
Targeted Opportunities for Improvement Identified from CCSD93 Middle School Satisfaction Surveys
Each year, we give a Satisfaction Survey to CCSD93's parents, students, and staff members. The resulting data is examined by district leaders to help us understand what is working well within the district and better target where to focus efforts for improvement. On a school level, Building Leadership Teams and principals examine the data, and it's used as an integral component within School Improvement Plans.

This year, our middle school students registered consistently high scores for many of their teachers. We did, however, observe dips in middle school student ratings across several categories, including School Atmosphere, Environmentalism, and Overall Satisfaction. While most of this year's ratings in these categories are by no means low, as you can see by the ratings and the scale in the Middle School Student Satisfaction Survey Quick Glance image above, we are seeking to determine a root cause of these downward trends and implement action plans to reverse them.

Identifying key areas and opportunities for improvement is exactly why we perform the the Satisfaction Survey each year, and why we are grateful for each parent, student, and staff member for taking the time to give us feedback.
