“A clean heart create for me, O God, and a steadfast spirit renew within me.” ( Psalm 51:12 )
Message from the Principal
Dear Parents and Families,
Each Friday throughout the Lenten season, our students and staff will participate in Stations of the Cross from 8:10-8:30 in the morning. Next Tuesday we will also have our annual Lenten Penance Service from 9:30 a.m. until noon. Students in Grades 2-8 will have the opportunity to go to confession and speak to a priest during that time. Our seventh graders have also begun practice for their presentation of Stations of the Cross next month. This will be presented at St. Gabriel on Wednesday, April 10th at 7:00 p.m. and at St. Michael on Friday, April 19th at 10:00 a.m.

Next Friday is the last week of Quarter 3, and with several students being absent with illnesses over the last few weeks, we hope that students have had the chance to meet with their teachers to get any missing work they may have so that these assignments and tests can be made up. Additionally, with just one quarter left, we want to remind families about their required service hours. We have just over a third of our families who have accumulated ten volunteer hours for the year, but many, many more are within just a few hours of meeting this requirement. Please know that there are still several opportunities by which families may meet their goal of ten service hours. Remember that we are always looking for volunteers to help with recess duty and our annual Field Day, which will be held in late May. Additionally, we can use some volunteers to help with our Spring Book Fair, which will be held next month, our Someone Special Dance and Color Run in April, and our Mother’s Day Breakfast in May. All of these activities do require volunteers to be Safe and Sacred trained, so if you are interested in helping with any of these events, please complete your Safe and Sacred training now so that you are ready to help when these events come around. For those who are not Safe and Sacred trained, we do offer some other opportunities to acquire service hours by attending our last three PTA meetings and to help with our Teacher Appreciation luncheon in May by making a dish.

God Bless,
Mrs. Ramos

Safe and Sacred Training

We would like to remind all our families wishing to help with activities where our students are present that individuals must have completed the Safe and Sacred online training and completed a background check in order to volunteer or to serve as chaperones for a field trip. Please understand that until the certificate and background check are on file, we cannot, per the Archdiocese of Indianapolis, allow individuals to volunteer or work as employees of the school without this training and background check completed. If you completed your Safe and Sacred training, but did not complete the background check, simply log in to your account with your password and press the background check to complete the entire process. If you completed your training over a year ago or are unsure of your status, please log in to your Safe and Sacred account to see whether your training and background check are current. All Safe and Sacred certificates will have an expiration date on them, allowing your training to be valid for three years. To access the Safe and Sacred website, please go to the following: https://safeandsacred-archindy.org/login/index.php
