The Morning Star Weekly Newsletter Vol 5, Edition 27 3/9/2021
Dear Morning Star Families and Friends,

Spring is almost upon us, and along with warmer weather, spring brings a sense of newness and hope.

This past weekend, I had the pleasure to attend the Confirmation at a local parish for one of our eighth graders. It was my first Confirmation of the year, and I was reminded of the beauty in the traditions of the Church. How exciting to see one of our students, as a young adult, renew the Baptismal vows and to receive the gifts of the Holy Spirit.

As a school community we partner with families and parishes, to share our faith with the students entrusted to us. Moments like Confirmation when we see our students grow in their faith are moments of hope and joy for us all.

Enjoy the warmer weather, blue skies, and have a wonderful week!

Many blessings,
Elaine Shott, Principal

A HUGE thank you to our SPONSORS so far...

WE NEED PRIZES AND AUCTION DONATIONS!
Games and Silent auctions are a great way to maximize revenue for our school. And no event would be complete without fun prizes and a few tables filled with exciting auction packages. Items such as travel/dining experiences, sporting event tickets, beauty and spa certificates, sports memorabilia, music and entertainment venues, family outings, technology, gift baskets, jewelry and high-end items are just a few ideas. And of course, monetary donations are always appreciated. No item is too small or too large. We will put anything you provide to good use.

In addition to items your family donates, please ask the businesses you frequent to also help out. Click HERE to print a “Community Partner” letter that you may use when speaking to a business. Please make sure to also complete a donation form so we can thank you (and others) properly. Click HERE to print the donation form.

To discuss sponsor packages, prize donations or other ways you can help, please contact Maria Johnson, Director of Development, at (904) 962-5080 or development@morningstar-jax.org

We are happy to announce our newest Morning Star School/Project Chance family member. Meet our "soon-to-be" school therapy dog. His name is….drum roll please….Mission!
Everyone joined in on the fun during our Dr. Suess Birthday celebration at Morning Star!

Students published a “Plan a Party” writing lesson. The students worked very hard on paragraph writing. They started with brainstorming details then added a beginning and conclusion sentence. After, they created a picture of their party.
