3-A SSI expanded its Knowledge Center with a new ‘Ask the Expert’ section which features concise video blogs on significant topics in hygienic equipment design. The introductory VLOGs are intended to present a brief overview of various subjects relevant to the application of 3-A Sanitary Standards and 3-A Accepted Practices. The first two VLOGs are now available:
‘Surface Finish in 3-A Sanitary Standards‘ describes the critical role of surface finish requirements for equipment across all 3-A Sanitary Standards. The video includes a demonstration of surface measurement step-by-step using a profilometer.
‘Hygienic Welding: Quality and Inspection’ explains the requirements for the welding of austenitic stainless steel tube and pipe systems in conformance to American Welding Society requirements contained in the 3-A SSI General Requirements.
3-A SSI has created these brief video presentations from leading authorities in hygienic equipment design to help introduce a prominent topic in 3-A Sanitary Standards. Viewers can deepen their subject knowledge by exploring the other resources shown in the links. We welcome suggestions from viewers for future VLOGs. 3-A SSI plans to reach out to prospective meeting attendees this fall to determine interest in participating in the upcoming program scheduled for May 17-20, 2021 in Bloomington, MN.
