3 Essentials For A Weed Free Lawn
April shower bring May flowers... and weeds. Weeds are a persistent problem for many. This spring lets stop the cycle! Stand up to those weeds with 3 remedies that may surprise you.

Now you won't simply be killing existing weeds, but taking the time fix the underlying problems and stopping your weeds from returning year after year. Follow these 3 cures for the common weed and achieve a beautiful, healthy, weed free lawn that lasts! Now you can stop fighting weeds, and start enjoy your lawn this summer.
Conquer Your
Broadleaf Weeds
Have a lawn covered in dandelions? Broadleaf weeds, like dandelions, clover, chickweed, etc. can quickly take over your lawn and be very frustrating!

Dandelions, and other broadleaf weeds, thrive in thin weak turf, and love acidic soil with low calcium levels. Providing conditions favorable to turf growth, such as balancing soil pH and mowing high, are great preventative measures.

Products. If you already have broadleaf weeds actively growing in your lawn try either our Weed & Feed or Lawn Weed ControlWeed & Feed contains both Green-Up lawn fertilizer and broadlead weed control while Lawn Weed Control is only a control product. Both products use a superior three-way weed control that works on over 250 broadleaf weeds.

Apply  both products  to a damp lawn when the weeds are actively growing. The product should stick to the weed leaves. Do not mow or water your lawn for 48 hours; including no rain in the forecast. Remember, you cannot seed for 4 weeks after application.  For best results follow directions on the label.
It's Not Too Late For Crabgrass Control
You can  effectively control crabgrass until the plant's 3rd leaf stage when using a PRE and POST emergent control. Having an extended timeline allows for later application and more robust control.

This ability to delay application until the weather truly warms is a great benefit of both Crabgrass Preventer Plus Green-Up , and  Crabgrass & Weed Preventer . Both these products control crabgrass before and after germination. Meaning, in a cool spring like this year, we can wait to apply without fear of missing ''the window''. Now you can apply as the soil starts to warm and truly use the full lifespan of your crabgrass control!

Do you need a second application this year?
Summer is when crabgrass truly thrives. If your area is experiencing a slow start to spring and applied early, or you have a sever crabgrass problem, you may want to consider making a second application to your lawn.

Apply crabgrass control to dry lawn and water in.  Remember when choosing a crabgrass control that  need to wait a minimum of 8-10 weeks between fertilization. For best results follow directions on label.
Balance Your Soil's pH
Weeds thrive in acidic soils.
With low soil pH, you will never stop fighting the battle to eliminating lawn weeds.

Low soil pH causes weeds, moss, and bare spots to grow, while soil pH ranging between 6.2 – 6.8 will re-energize your lawn. A balanced pH will increase microbial activity, boost your lawn’s color, reduce stress, improve soil texture and aid in water uptake.

How Do You Raise Soil pH?
MAG-I-CAL® for Acidic Soil is a highly soluble form of calcium that helps to rapidly raise your soil’s pH, improving your fertilizer’s effectiveness for a thicker, greener lawn with improved weed control.
