Greetings!

HELP

Hello and Happy October!  Hope your Fall has been a beautiful one so far.

Mine has been busy, complete with a new Forbes blog, and some great teaching/training opportunities.

Also, I'm very excited to be working with emerging women leaders in the national corporate arena, and having the chance to help corporate employers shift their work cultures so that both men and women can thrive equally well, and reach their highest potential.  Heaven!

ADDRESSING CAREER BLOCKS

Towards that end, I've been observing repetitive behaviors that hold people back from attaining career bliss - common missteps that block them from following a course that aligns with their innermost passions, beliefs, values and priorities.

If you look around, you'll see a vast number of working people today who just can't claim career success and fulfillment as their own. They feel thwarted, confused, and unable to chart a professional course that brings joy and contentment. Having lived through this type of career misery for a number of years myself, I know how disheartening it is.

If you remain locked in a cycle of disliking your work or work-life situation and feel lost as to how to reclaim your professional life, check out my latest Forbes piece on:

"3 Mistakes That Block Career Bliss (and My 52 Mistakes)"

BEFORE YOU ASK SOMEONE FOR FREE HELP, RECONSIDER...

 Stop Sign

I've been stunned by the volume of FREE help requests I've received lately, in response to my Forbes article about LinkedIn: Busting 8 Damaging Myths about What It Can Do For Your Career.

In one week, I heard from scores of people asking for free counsel on a myriad of important career issues.  The stunner is that not ONE of these folks offered to pay for the help, or to barter with something of value.

We all need a bit of help at some time -- I get that.  What I can't fathom is how inconsiderate and disrespectful folks can be when asking help from a stranger.  If this resonates with you and you experience the same behavior from others, check out my latest Ellia blog post:

Click here: Before You Ask Someone For Free Help, Reconsider

Would love your thoughts!  Add a comment or two.  Let's speak frankly to put an end to behavior that's less than respectful and fair.
