3 Roads has begun production on a new documentary focused on the incredible history of Frederick, Maryland. Home to historic figures including Francis Scott Key, Barbara Fritchie, Roger Brooke Taney and even the first President of the original United States government, John Hanson, Frederick also has an inspiring economic and social story to tell. Laid low by floods and suburban flight in the seventies, Frederick carefully rebranded and rebounded, and has been the fastest growing county in Maryland for years. The documentary, with the working title of InSpired, is expected to be completed in late 2024 and will be distributed nationally on Public TV in 2025.
3 Roads has already received a state production tax grant from the State of Maryland, as well as a grant from Visit Frederick. Heritage Frederick is the documentary's fiscal sponsor, and 3 Roads has agreements with Frederick Magazine and other media outlets for sharing content. More than a dozen interviews have already taken place, and snippets of the interviews will be placed periodically on our website, www.frederickinspired.com.
