3 Simple Tips For Choosing a Credit Card Processing Company
First: Make sure the person you speak with has the experience, patience and the ability to help you well past the sale.

Second: Negotiate your cancellation charges.

Third: Negotiate a 60-day trial so you can see two full billing cycles; this way you can fully gage the validity of their offer with the reality of their solution/service.

Bonus tip: Make sure your rates do not go up. Traditionally merchant service providers increase rates along with the scheduled Visa and MasterCard increases which happen in April and August.

The Payment Exchange is a licensed ISO/MSP (Independent Sales Office and Member Service Provider) which means we are your closest link to the global payment network. We work with many different hotel reservation and ecommerce software providers and have successfully liberated thousands of merchants since 2002.

Workers Affected by Wildfires Can Apply For Unemployment Assistance
Federal Disaster Unemployment Assistance (DUA)is now offering unemployment assistance benefits to self-employed individuals and workers who lost their employment or whose work hours were considerably due to the California wildfires in Butte, Lake, Mendocino, Napa, Nevada, Orange, Sonoma and Yuba counties.
These benefits will be offered to people who are not eligible for regular state unemployment insurance benefits.

DUA will be providing temporary unemployment benefits as a result of the White House declaring a major disaster in California on October 10.

November 16, 2017 is the deadline for filing claims.

Affected individuals can apply for DUA through the EDD. The quickest and most convenient method to apply is through EDD’s online application, “ eApply4UI ,” available in English and Spanish.

Also, claimants can file for DUA by phone between 8 a.m. and noon, Monday through Friday:
  • English: 1-800-300-5616

Have you signed up for an emergency alert?
The recent fires wildfires in Yuba, Sonoma, Napa and Mendocino counties have raised a number of concerns for officials and residents regarding emergency preparedness.
One of the biggest issues to come to the public’s attention is the inconsistency of the emergency alert systems.
While some victims of the fires received a warning on their phones, many did not.
Some county officials admit their emergency warning systems are limited. Past phone alert systems have relied on landlines. Because the number of residential landlines has declined significantly, many counties use voluntary sign-up systems. People must register their cellphone number to be advised of an emergency alert.

For example, in Sacramento, people can sign up for an emergency alert at Sacramento-Alert.org . It is advisable that employers should research the kind of emergency alert system offered in their county and share that information with their employees.  This is one small, but important step in preparing a plan to manage the next catastrophe.
