THREE BIG LEGISLATIVE UPDATES

UPDATE #1

SB 64 (Chang) Pet Microchipping

IS OFFICIALLY ON THE GOVERNOR'S DESK!!!

Governor Newsom has now until October 13th to sign or veto all bills coming to his desk.

We believe he will understand the benefits to assuring permanent identification is on every dog and cat as they leave animal shelters throughout the state. But as you know, we cannot take anything for granted.

Update #2
Elephant in circus
SB 313 (Hueso) Circus Cruelty Prevention Act

and

SB202 (Wilk) Animal Blood Donors

Are both going to the full Assembly Floor for a vote early this week.

Please make one call to your Assemblymember for both bills and ask them to vote "YES" when they come up for a vote.

Update #3
(Here we go again!)

The Gator killers are trying again with yet another "gut and amend" and "jailbreak" bill at the finish line. Their egregious attempts to circumvent the legislative process are appalling with another political shenanigan to push their exploitative goals on Californians with no due process.

They now have AB 1561, a remake of the original AB 521, then AB 719. Both bills stalled in committees, had huge price tags to the state, and this is another regurgitated version. Now they have gut and amended an Assemblymember Christina Garcia bill.

We must continue to fight and represent the voiceless animals and the will of Californians, 75% of who support a ban on the sale of exotic skins. We cannot allow them to get away with this!

Please make a call to:

Senate Pro Tem Toni Atkins
916-651-4039

Senator Anthony Portantino
916-651-4025

Please ask them to uphold the legislative process and NOT ALLOW the Louisiana Alligator and Crocodile Slaughter Industry to run roughshod over the California Legislative Process.

Thank you for your time on these important bills.
