Voice Your Support for Allocating Resources for Reducing the Impacts of Homelessness Downtown

We know your businesses has been impacted by people experiencing homelessness. There are many people living outdoors in our downtown community, that need care and attention and a safe place to live. As we approach the end of year, and look ahead to a hopefully much better 2021, Downtown Santa Barbara urges you to voice your support for allocating case management resources that can help give people access to the help they need and reduce the impacts homelessness in downtown Santa Barbara for the coming year.

A Presentation by Service Providers Will Be Made at City Council Tomorrow, Tuesday, December 15th.

Consider listening in, and lending your voice in public comment to support allocating needed resources downtown.

Bring in Customers Before Christmas!

PARTNER: Partner with one or several neighboring businesses and offer a 10% discount or a special perk if you mention the other business. Do the same for your neighbor and talk them up on social media or via your e-newsletters.

LEND SUPPORT TO A GOOD CAUSE: Everyone likes to support a business that gives back to their community. Follow the kindhearted example of Grassini Family Vineyards which is giving $10 to the local foodbank for every bottle of wine they sell. Alternatively consider donating $10 for every hundred dollars someone spends at your business to your favorite cause. Expert tip: Tell the good cause your going to do this and they may promote you as well on their massive email list! Send out a press release to the media to let them know what you're up to and increase your traction! Post on social media and tag us @downtownsantabarbara so we can share it too!

DO AT LEAST ONE VIRTUAL SHOPPING TOUR DAILY: via Instagram Live or Facebook Live or even multiple times a day. Offer special deals for people who are watching live to purchase within the hour or the same day the video is posted. Offer free delivery or shipping or a special gift with every purchase.
