Charlotte W. Collins was a founder and first president of the Tennessee Health Care Campaign.

She began her legal career in Tennessee and became the chief external policy strategist and spokesperson for the Regional Medical Center at Memphis. In that role, she joined efforts that led to new state regulations prohibiting “patient dumping” (refusing care to unstable patients for socioeconomic reasons), expanding Medicaid eligibility to pregnant women and their children, and establishing a statewide trauma system. Later she pursued a career that included law practice and associate professor at the George Washington University.

At THCC's Annual Conference , Charlotte will speak on "The Affordable Care Act - What's the Same and What's Changed."
Kinika Young is the Director of Children's Health at the Tennessee Justice Center (TJC). 

Kinika began her legal practice with Bass, Berry & Sims, PLC in 2006 and became a Member of the firm in 2015, where her specialty was representing hospitals and other healthcare providers. Kinika joined TJC in April 2017 and leads the work to build and sustain a movement across the state, through advocacy and education, to protect and strengthen the health safety net for all children in Tennessee. Kinika was named one of Nashville Medical News' Women to Watch Class of 2018.


At THCC's Annual Conference , Kinika will speak on "What's Happening in Medicaid and the Threats Around the Corner."
Patrick Willard is Senior Director, State and National Strategic Partnerships, for Families USA.

He leads a team that brings resources and critical assistance to advance the Families USA health care initiatives in the states and the federal government. He directs Families USA’s Oral Health Care Campaign. During the 2018 elections he and his team provided strategic campaign and messaging leadership to state health care coalitions in Idaho, Nebraska and Utah for the successful passage of ballot measures to expand Medicaid coverage.
