Since 1984, ASSOCIUM has been a leader in safeguarding non-profit organizations, and assisting them in strengthening their infrastructure. Over the past decades, we have grown and broadened our scope of assistance to include full-service back office support to non-profit, private and governmental sectors. Today, ASSOCIUM has three national divisions specializing in all HR needs and Organizational Development, Procurement Services and Employee Group Benefits. Our mandate is to save our members/clients significant costs by leveraging our buying power, and advocating on their behalf. We support our membership and client base by doing the heavy lifting for them. Soft cost savings are easily missed but are so important to an increased bottom line. Conferences
Small Business Forum 2014
 It was great to get out in support of small businesses and the entrepreneurial spirit on October 23rd. Our booth created quite a stir with our approach to cost savings, buying power, reputable partners and longevity in supporting Canadian organizations for 30 years.
Children's Mental Health Ontario Conference
We also sponsored the 2014 Children's Mental Health Ontario Conference on November 23 - 25th at the Marriott Toronto Downtown Eaton Centre. Nice to meet so many new people.

Pillars of the Community
 If you would like to be recognized in this section of our newsletter or website, please forward a short article to [email protected]. Your content can include an introduction to your organization to help generate awareness; it can give a history; highlight your mandate; or even give details of an event. It's your space. Articles should generally be in the neighborhood of about 700 characters (including spaces). Space is scalable, however. We would love to help highlight your organization and its initiatives!
South Asian Women's Centre
 Established in 1982 as a self-help group for South Asian women survivors of domestic abuse, at a time when there were no agencies to assist them. Today the agency has grown to become a multi-service agency serving the needs of South Asian women and their families in different ways. SAWC serves women from other communities as well, like the Portuguese and Iraqi communities to name a couple. No client is turned away from SAWC, which has an integrated and holistic approach to service delivery.

Tip of the Month - Save with generic drugs
Did you know? Generic drugs are the same quality product as brand-name drugs but at a much, much lower price. Canada's generic drug-usage rate is 66% of drug purchases. This is a far cry from the 86% generic-usage rate achieved in the United States. An employee group benefits plan, increasing their generic usage from 66% to 86%, could realize a further 25% saving to their drug costs.
