Big Moves In Washington DC

We are thrilled to share all that is happening on the Hill as we unite in our efforts to end sex trafficking and bring practical solutions to best restore survivors and prevent children from exploitation.

We recently held a press conference in collaboration with The Selah Way Foundation partner Global Strategic Operatives , founded by Deb O'Hara Rusckowski . Through our Protection Initiative we are training six of the largest healthcare providers to assess and help victims of this crime, including Baptist Hospital, Advocate Aurora Health , Ha Hackensack Meridian Health Medical Group , Baylor Harris Health, RWJ Barnabas Health and Northwell Health . Special thanks to Congressman Ross Spano and Congressman Chris Smith for being champions in this mission! Training the healthcare system and first responders (an effort led by Dr. Stephany Powell , former NYPD Vice Sgt.) is vital in accomplishing our goal to save lives.

Our Co-Founder/CEO Elizabeth Melendez Fisher Good was honored to be invited to The White House to attend the Human Trafficking Summit hosted by Ivanka Trump with fellow champions dedicated to eradicating sex trafficking. We are seeing greater awareness and action to save the lives of American children! We are grateful for the tireless support of leaders like Representative Vern Buchanan, Representative Alcee Hastings, Representative Ann Wagner, John Cotton Richmond, Lieutenant Governor Jeanette Nunez, Ann Loudenbeck and others.

Meet Marcia

Each month we want to introduce you to our team of world changers! Our team is incredibly dedicated, passionate, innovative and caring. They carry the heart of Selah Freedom. This month, we're excited to introduce you to Marcia Preston.

Marcia A. Preston is the Regional Director of Philanthropy & Awareness in the Midwest for Selah Freedom, the nation’s leading anti-sex trafficking service provider. She brings exceptional experience in advocating for marginalized people and equality for the oppressed. She is passionate about connecting the philanthropic community with high-impact giving opportunities which will save lives and eradicate sex trafficking.

Preston has served in leadership roles for over 20 years in building collaborative partnerships, development resources, strategic event planning, project grant evaluation and organizational leadership.

Selah Freedom has exponentially expanded our programming in the Midwest, and Preston’s vast expertise positions the organization to continue and sustain growth in community support and partnerships, all to achieve our mission to end sex trafficking and bring freedom to the exploited.

Preston is a graduate of the Dominican University with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Organizational Leadership.
