GPR Properties II Acquires Bentley Commons!
As a highlight from 2009, Partners in Housing is pleased to focus on the GPR Properties II acquisition of the Bentley Commons property! GPR Properties II is comprised of Greccio Housing, Partners in Housing, and the Rocky Mountain Community Land Trust.
Through the U.S. Dept. of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) Neighborhood Stabilization Program (NSP), GPR II received a substantial portion of the funding for the purchase of the property! The NSP program specifically supported programs to acquire and rehab abandoned or foreclosed residential properties. The 24 two-bedroom units and the community center, on 3.91 acres, at the Bentley Commons project had been started to be individually owned condos, but the developer was not able to fully complete and they had been vacant for a few years.
These units are rented as affordable housing to households earning between 30% Area Median Income and 120% Area Median Income and are always in high demand. The beautiful views of the mountains and Sand Creek and the nice apartment amenities are appreciated by the residents there!

A beautiful property!
We are grateful to the City of Colorado Springs Community Development Division, the Colorado Division of Housing, and the El Paso County Housing Authority for their expertise and investment resulting in these units being available to low-income households and an asset for our community!

GPR Properties II was recognized by the City of Colorado Springs with an Excellence in Agency Collaboration Award for their combined diligent work in the complicated NSP process!

Lifting Voices and Brightening Lives!
Also in 2009, Partners in Housing held a wonderful benefit concert with the Colorado Springs Chorale! The concert featured classical and popular music celebrating love, hope, and the renewal of Spring! 100% of ticket proceeds went to Partners in Housing in support of programs that help families in housing crisis achieve self-sufficiency. A special thank you to the Colorado Springs Chorale and all the event sponsors and guests for making the benefit concert a resounding success!
