Partner Success Spotlight: Roxanne Novak
We had the wonderful opportunity to catch up with Roxanne Novak, a graduated Partner, past Partners in Housing Board Member, and an integral part of designing the new logo that we have today! Roxanne was an absolute joy to interview and we were delighted to hear about both her and her family's continued successes! Check out our 5-minute video below!
"My children are doing quite well also. My daughter and her family are buying their first home next week and are super excited to do that. My son recently graduated from the Police Academy..."

"...the program is amazing. It gives you an opportunity to have your fundamental needs taken care of, ensures that you and your family are safe and sheltered while giving you tools and resources to continue growing within your own community, and empowers you to become a part of that community. Really self-sufficiency is the goal and I think Partners in Housing in its entirety does exactly that. It is a partnership with the individuals in the program and if you work it, you will receive all the benefits that are available."
Can't stop, won't stop! We acquired more units!
In 2010, after looking at and assessing many properties, Partners in Housing was able to acquire the Christy Lynn Apartments! This provided another 14 apartment units, a mix of 1 and 2 bedrooms, for use as affordable rentals. As we continue to try and assist more families in our Family Self-Sufficiency Program, we can be flexible and often use some of the apartments for families in our program. The El Paso County Housing Authority and the City of Colorado Springs were once again funders supporting Partners in Housing in the acquisition of this property! All the units are restricted to low-income households by a land-use agreement.
Accepted as an Empty Stocking Fund Agency!
In 2010, Partners in Housing was accepted as the 15th partner agency in the Empty Stocking Fund!

Empty Stocking Fund is an annual community fundraiser led by Gazette Charities Foundation to provide resources for the top 20 health and human service agencies in the Pikes Peak region.
This is an incredible and unique fundraiser where every donated dollar can grow up to 45% thanks to matching grants! El Pomar Foundation matches $1 for every $3 raised up to $200,000 and The Bruni Foundation matches $1 for every $10 raised up to $70,000!

Additionally, all administrative costs are covered by Empty Stocking Fund campaign partners: The Anschutz Foundation, Gazette Charities Foundation, The Gazette, El Pomar Foundation, Pikes Peak Community Foundation, and Add Staff, which means 100% of all donations go directly to the partner agencies!

Last year, the Empty Stocking Fund raised $1.5M and distributed those funds to the 20 agencies listed in the graphic below. We are honored to be a part of this remarkable group and are grateful for the resources to guide families from homelessness to stability!
