9:00 - 10:30 " 8 Steps to the Perfect Bag "  Pam Damour

Bag making is fun, but we want our bags to have that professional high-end look. In this lecture/demo/trunk show, from the book Hold Everything you will learn how to make different bag bottom finishes, straps, zipper insertions and pocket applications. Pam will also share some quick gifts just in time for the holidays.

Some items, like baby onesies are REALLY hard to hoop! Let Mike teach you the secrets of the professional embroiderers to get the perfect results no matter what item you want to embroider. Learn proper stabilization and hooping techniques that will help you no matter your experience level.

Get the lowdown on some of the best serger techniques covered in Pam’s newest book, Power Serge, as you see how to make the most of your serger’s abilities. Explore the how, why and where of double piping, pintucks, making ruffles, pleats and more. Her trunk show will start your creative juices flowing, and your serger will become a bigger part of your sewing practice.

How do you hoop a hat? With a Durkee Hat Hoop of course! Watch as Mike shows his technique for hooping any hat, on any machine. Learn about design placement, stabilization secrets, and the benefits of using a Durkee Hat hoop on both a single or multi-needle embroidery machine.

1:30 - 3:00 " IQ Modern Clutch Bag " Karen Parker
Karen shows how to use the IQ designer to build a modern clutch bag, right on board the embroidery machine that can then be stitched out fully in the hoop. Learn techniques for building your own creations without ever having to turn on a computer, or sew a single seam yourself!
3:30 - 4:30 " Notions Commotion Part 2 " Debbie LaFrance

Great projects need a great finish, and nothing finishes your project better than a serger. Learn how to make perfect piping, zipper insertions, ruching, wave flatlock and more. Pam will share many construction tips from her projects in Power Serge.
11:00 - 12:30 " Crazy Quilting Applique " Mike Johns
Learn how to build your own crazy quilting designs in the IQ designer using applique and embroidery motif stitches. Mike will demonstrate how to build the design step by step, and give tips on how to get it all in the hoop easily.

1:30 - 3:00 " Blinged Cork Cuff " Karen Parker
Karen teaches us not to fear metallic thread with this quick and gorgeous blinged out cork cuff! She incorporates metallic and varigated thread, snaps and hot fix bling into a fast-to-build IQ Designer project that really shines!

Karen Parker

Sharing the joy for creating all things related to fiber and textiles is Karen's passion in life. When machine embroidery hit the home market, Karen dove in head first! With these additional skills, she began to teach classes in beginner to advanced embroidery, digitizing and garment construction in her home studio. She has worked and taught in fabric shops and provided workshops for quilt guilds.
Mike Johns

Mike Johns, the owner of Mama’s Boy Design, LLC, is a Certified Baby Lock Ambassador of Education and Product Educator and Lead Trainer for Durkee Embroidery Hoops, Inc. Mike offers a wide variety of classes on single and multi-needle Baby Lock embroidery machines and Baby Lock sergers.
Pam Damour

Pam’s career spans more than 30 years. She offers professional drapery workroom training and travels internationally to teach specialty techniques. She is co-author of the books “Pillow Talk” and “Cheaper by the Dozen” and producer of 12 DVDs.
