CONSTRUCTION ADVISORY
Week of February 7
Week-long closure of northbound 31st Street,
north of Fontanero starts Monday, Feb. 7

Due to weather the storm sewer work on Fontanero Street, between 31st and 30th streets has been rescheduled for the week of Feb. 7. This work will require a week-long full closure of northbound 31st Street on the north side of the intersection. The streets are too narrow to maintain traffic through the work area. The signed detour route will direct residents east (right) on Fontanero Street, north (left) on 30th Street and west (left) on Westmoor Drive. Access to properties along northbound 31st Street between Fontanero Street and Westmoor Drive will be maintained using a temporary two-way configuration.

Construction schedules are weather-dependent and subject to change. Any changes to the closure schedule will be posted on a message board approaching the work area and on the project website.
Tunnel between Garden of the Gods Visitor & Nature Center
and the Park to close for two days

The trail connection under 30th Street will close for approximately two days between Friday, Feb. 4 and Tuesday, Feb. 8 (weather dependent) for new storm sewer pipe to be placed across the trail. Once the work is complete, the trail will reopen to pedestrians, bikes, and Segways. The project team will coordinate this work with the Garden of the Gods Visitor & Nature Center and affected vendors. Schedule information will follow when available.
Construction Activities planned
  • Prepare the area near the 30th Street and Gateway Road intersection for the future roundabout and trail underpass
