HAPPY NEW YEAR!

I trust you and your family had a wonderful holiday season. Thank you for your patience as we roll out our first newsletter of 2024. We hit the ground running by adding a new staff person, rearranging some staff responsibilities, and already had two tax appeal events. The people's work never ends, and our office would not have it any other way. Enjoy our first newsletter of the new year!

Northwest Center's New Executive Director

On December 4, 2023, Dr. Dinah Torres-Quiñones began her new role as NWC’s new Executive Director. She replaces James Rudyk, who has led NWC for over a decade. I thank James for his dedicated service to NWC and Belmont-Cragin and am excited to work with Dr. Torres-Quiñones in the near future. We will miss you, James. COVID Tests Available at 31st Ward Office

31st Ward residents can stop by our office at 4606 W. Diversey Ave. during our regular business hours and pick up two boxes of iHealth COVID tests. You must live in the 31st Ward and show a valid ID. Only two boxes of iHealth COVID tests will be distributed to each resident present. This offer is while supplies last.

Osher Lifelong Learning Institute (OLLI) Fall Registrationrticle Heading

Are you intellectually curious? Are you looking for engagement and social connection? OLLI invites you to join this vibrant learning community at Northwestern University, specially designed for adults age 50+. In stimulating discussions, you’ll explore a wide range of your favorite subjects, including history, literature, creative arts, contemporary issues, science, technology, and more--with no tests or grades. Registration is February 5th through February 19th for 14-week study groups beginning March 4th in Evanston, downtown Chicago, or online. Art Institute Chicago FREE Admission Days

Admission is free for Illinois residents on weekdays (Mondays, Thursdays, and Fridays), January 8–March 22, 2024. If you reserve your free tickets online in advance, your resident status will be verified using the zip code associated with the billing address provided. If you are unable to reserve tickets in advance, please stop by the admissions desks on the day of your visit for assistance. Steering Wheel Locks (6009L) FREE Giveaway

My office still has plenty of FREE Steering Wheel Locks. These are for 31st residents only. Each resident must bring their registration to our office displaying their 31st Ward address. This giveaway is while supplies last.
