SOME RECENT EVENTS!

POP-UP FOR PEACE EVENT

On August 29, 2024, I joined Alder Jessie Fuentes for a pop-up for peace event at Blackhawk Park. We enjoyed interacting with residents and providing a safe space for children and adults to enjoy themselves. There was food, games, music, and resources. Thank you to Alder Jessie Fuentes and staff, Alliance of Local Service Organizations, Blackhawk Park, my staff, and all who participated.

CHICAGO LATINO CAUCUS FOUNDATION GRANT RECIPIENTS

I am pleased to introduce Abigail and Zury, the 31st Ward recipients of the 2024 CLCF grant in the amount of $5,000. This grant will assist them as they start college. Congratulations to both of you. Keep moving forward in your education and may your dreams come to fruition.

You can pick up your We Call the Police sign at our office while supplies last.

FREE PURE LIFE DISTILLED WATER

Our office has free gallons of Pure Life distilled water. Stop by and pick up your free gallon while supplies last.

NEW STATE FLAG DESIGN CONTEST

Beginning Tuesday, Sept. 3, the Illinois Flag Commission will start accepting public submissions for a new state flag design. The commission will accept design ideas for consideration from the public online or by mail until October 18, 2024. Click the link for further details: https://www.ilsos.gov/special/IFC/home.html

LABOR DAY HOLIDAY REFUSE COLLECTION

There will be NO refuse collection on Monday, September 2, 2024. All city-collected refuse will be serviced on Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday. Residents should ensure all black refuse carts are accessible throughout the collection week, not solely on their regular collection day.

OFFICE CLOSED

In observance of the Labor Day holiday, our office will be closed on Monday, September 2, 2024. We will be open to serve you on Tuesday, September 3, 2024. Have a happy and safe Labor Day.
